The Gift That Grows

Not just a fishing pole, but a Fishing Hole!

You have probably heard "Give a man a fish, and feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish and feed him for a life time."  You can teach a man to fish all you want, but what if there is no water for him to fish in?  We realize that it is every bit as important to make sure there are fishing holes as well as teaching how to fish.  Actually, there are often a lot of good fisherman, they just have no where to fish.  So our goal at KPGI is to not only give them fish, and teach them to fish if necessary, but mainly make sure there is a productive fishing hole.

Fishing Holes at Work

Bless India's first business investment was into sewing machines, which are also a blessing in making clothing for the children.  We are currently in the final stages of setting up a fish farm.  We actually made fish ponds and will be raising fish.  The first harvest should be about the first of September.  The first harvest of fish should produce more than double our initial investment.

In Liberia we have also purchased sewing machines as well as a taxi, which doubles as the ministry transportation vehicle, so it not only produces income, but has helped greatly in the expense savings department.

Fishing Holes on the Horizon

In India, agricultural plantations, textile manufacturing, dairy and chicken farms can be very lucrative businesses; medical clinics are a double blessing, because we can use the services for our children and also be a service to the community while providing revenue at the same time.  We have also put up a retainer fee on a coconut/arcanut plantation in Coimbatore.  There are approximately 700 coconut trees and 2,000 arcanut trees on the property; producing a conservative revenue of about $3.00 per coconut tree and $4.00 per arcanut tree per month.  During the life time of a tree, every $100 dollar investment will in turn produce a conservative return of $2,160 dollars.  Now is that stewardship or what.  There are also several other agriculture products grown on the plantation.  The monthly income is conservatively $10,100.  When we are able to purchase this one plantation, we can provide funding for Bless India's childrens homes, bible college, and other expenses for years to come.

An investment in chicken or dairy cows would pay back the investment cost in less than six months and then would produce all profit.  A thousand chickens will produce about $500 per month and a milk cow will produce about $100 per month.

In Liberia we would like to start a medical clinic next as it would produce income, provide the medical needs for the children, and help the surrounding community.  Also, the medical facilities in Liberia are sadly lacking.  An internet café is also on our list.

We're looking for the hot, well stocked fishing holes of God!  Please, for more information or to find out how you can help Contact Us!
