8/30/05

Hello once again,

Well, I am back from India. The Holy Spirit Fire continues to burn and spread.  The trip was incredible the whole time.  Multitudes of people continued to be healed and delivered, and experience peace, joy, and God's wondrous love, to name a few.  Many times during ministry we would have many others join us in praying and they saw the God use them powerfully also.  I often had two 14 year old girls interpreting for me, and praying for people at the same time.  I lost track of how many times I would pray for someone and not see anything happen,  and see them healed when one of them prayed.  Herb especially enjoyed forming miniature prayer teams and sending them out.   People would often get baptized in the Holy Spirit and/or speak in tongues without anyone even praying for them.  One of my interpreters when praying for someone couldn't think of how to pray for them and suddenly found herself praying for them in a language she did not know (tongues).

We did have a bus crash, but God’s hand was on us. The worst injuries were a three stitch cut behind Miriam’s ear and a cut next to Melissa’s eyes. About ¾ of us had some pretty sore body parts. We took what the enemy meant for bad and used it as an opportunity to see more people touched by God.  (Aside: I know that God’s will is for us to never be hurt and that His protection always keeps us safe from every attack of the enemy. That is His truth that I am contending for regardless of what my experience is.) We were able to minister to some nuns in the convent that was across the road from where we crashed. The Holy Spirit touched them in a wonderful way and after we shared what happened to the children in the Chenni orphanage, they were going to do the same for the children in their school. Another fire is lit!

In Chenni we only had about a half hour our first day at the orphanage there (17 children). So we played with the children for about 15 minutes then had them lay down so we could ask Jesus to come show them how much he loved them, and we sang and prayed over them. As we did, the children (all with eyes closed) began praying (or speaking in tongues), some of them began to weep. It was a very beautiful picture. When we were done, the children continued on in the same state. After about five more minutes we decided to just leave and not disturb them. When we went back the next day we found out that it was another half an hour before they began to come around and get up.

They shared with us what happened. Everyone of them, with the possibility of the littlest (who could not talk), saw Jesus come to them and then take them away to various places. About four or five of them said that he took them to the crucifixion ( that was the word they all used), some did not know where he took to them to. All of them said He loved on them in some manner; rocking, hugging, wiping their tears away, etc. We did the same thing at the end of that day with the same result - I have not heard a report of what happened while they were “gone”. That time we left little gifts (thanks to Christy) so they wouldn’t be sad that we were gone when they came back.

We stopped by the Iris Ministries orphanage and were able to minister to Helen and her team (the children were at school). Helen and one of the girls were touched very powerfully by the Holy Spirit and went with us to our meeting..

Our services in Chenni were pretty much replicas of our previous ones, with the Holy Spirit falling many times in wave after wave. We found out that a typical occurrence was after the first night many people would come because they heard of the miracles. On our second night we did an alter call right after the worship (about two hour long). We did not even share about accepting Jesus, etc., just simply asked who wanted to ask Jesus into their heart and repent of their sins, including forsaking every other god, idol and witchcraft. About 40 people immediately came forward. Thank you Jesus!

Once again the Holy Spirit fell powerfully both during the alter call and throughout the meeting; there were many testimonies of Jesus wonderful touch. The most profound one (shared two days after God touched her) I remember was of a lady that was healed of diabetes, and heart disease, along with having her husband, who have never given her any money what-so-ever in 37 years, give her 1000 rupees (25 days worth of wages) the following morning. Another testimony was of a man that was healed of throat cancer. For two years he had been fighting it and had had to be fed through a tube. He is now able to eat normally and the doctor can find no sign of cancer.

The day before we left India we found out the prayer meetings at Solomon’s church are still going on (two weeks now) usually 30 people or more. His attendance has increased from about 300 to 450.  The “fire” is still burning. The Holy Spirit has fallen more powerfully each succeeding Sunday at Victor’s church (I didn‘t ask what his attendance was like). We did not go to his church. He just took what he experienced at the Bible School to his church and followed the same pattern. The church in Karala had doubled in size since we were there and their building project which had been on hold for the last three years due to lack of funds resumed a couple of days after we left. The pastors of many surrounding churches who had ostracized him are now coming along side him and what God is doing.  Also his family, which had been hit very hard was doing well. While we were there depression lifted off his wife, and his son who had been being  tormented (thrashing, screaming, etc.), was instantly set free when his father, the pastor, repented for believing that every time he prayed and fasted, his son would get tormented.

The shortest services we had were about two hours long. They were services that didn’t start till eight thirty or nine. Time was definitely looked at in a different way there than it is here. I would say that on the average we were two hours late for meetings. Of course being seven hours late for one didn’t help the average. There were still people waiting for us, even being that late. Except for when we did not start till late at night, or had another meeting coming up soon, all of the meetings lasted at least 4 hours, one was seven hours long and another six. They were really even longer, because if I recall correctly there were always people still there when we left. At one meeting it was around two hours after we left that they were able to close the church.  I think those are a lot of the highlights.  Seeing hundreds saved and hundreds healed and knowing the Holy Spirit Fire is increasing and spreading even as we are gone is very wonderful.  I have to say though that it was really hard seeing many people in great pain or torment not healed, and some even healed one night and then not the next.  It doesn't change my view of what His truth is though - for everyone to be saved, healed, and delivered.  The closer my relationship with His is and the more I pray for people, the greater the reality of that truth is becoming  my experience.  Thanks again for all the prayers, and support.

I just got an email in regards to a church we were at (not mentioned above).  The short of the email was that at youth group every person including the adults that usually come and just observe fell out in the Holy Spirit and on Sunday the message only lasted 15 minutes before the Holy Spirit took over the service.  The revival in India is picking up steam!!!

Much love and Holy Spirit hugggs!!!

p.s. If you don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior, there is no day like today.  Don't wait any longer!
